SteppingStone Theatre focuses on developing the whole child through educational theater programs and fully staged productions. Our supportive, non-competitive environment helps youth build self-esteem and confidence in a community that celebrates diversity.
SteppingStone's programs foster creativity, self-expression and self-confidence; teach children and youth about history, diverse cultures, literature and the arts through engaging and entertaining learning; and help to create in youth a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
We serve youth from diverse ethnic, social and economic backgrounds. Since the theatre's founding in 1987 from the education programs at the former Chimera Theatre, more than 750,000 children, families and educators have attended or participated in SteppingStone Theatre events.
In December 2007, we moved to our new home in a beautiful, 100-year-old, renovated former church. We improved the exterior, converted the sanctuary into a 430-seat theatre with a proscenium-style stage equipped with modern lighting and sound capabilities, installed an elevator for accessibility to all areas of the building, and constructed classrooms and dressing rooms.
My son had a great week at Create A Musical camp. We were sad to see it end, but will be back to sign up for school year activities.
This theater is beautiful! The front has a lot of steps and may not be very accessible. We saw their production of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!" and our kids liked it. The seats are comfortable and easy to see the stage.
Great theatre space with multiple venues and meeting spaces. Main stage is beautifully renovated. The one complaint is the lobby is a little small.
Great place for all ages. Camps shows and cultural
What they showed was GARBAGE!And while they didn't MAKE it,they SHOWED it,and considering they didn't apply any quality control, they're bad!
